The old growth wood in our historic floors is a precious natural resource and most floors can only be drum sanded three times before they are at the end of their life. This class will teach how to patch, remove old finish, remove water and pet stains, and apply a finish all without aggressively sanding.
This class will be taught by Terry Philips of TK Enterprises and Alicia Trimble of Friends of Historic Preservation. Participants must wear closed toe shoes and be prepared to get dirty! Lunch will be provided.
Sign up here or at the Salvage Barn, 2401 Scott Blvd SE, Iowa City. Workshops will take place at the Houser-Metzger House, 623 College St, Iowa City.
Members of Friends of Historic Preservation are eligible for reduced workshop pricing. Join today!
Workshops made possible by a grant from
the Community Foundation of Johnson County.
Friends of Historic Preservation is here as a resource for everyone. If you wish to take this class,
